Background
State DOTs are challenged to create effective products that support tech transfer from technical research due to budget and staff limitations. Emerging generative AI technologies may allow DOTs to quickly create accurate and engaging videos, summaries, podcasts, slideshows, and posters. However, successful adoption requires navigating public sector IT compliance, managing human-in-the-loop verification, and targeting the right audiences. This project will develop practical guidance to help state DOTs find and use the right AI tools, outputs, and delivery channels for their specific communication and tech transfer goals.
