The Western Transportation Research Consortium began activities in 2024.
At the group’s November 2024 meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, the membership unanimously approved the WTRC Charter and Operating Procedures, effective November 20, 2024.
As of August 2026, there are 16 member states in the pooled fund study, with Utah serving as lead state.
